Privacy Policy:
Last updated: 8 October 2026
cellsuppression.com is owned and run by Mark Lintern, who is the data controller of your personal data. You can contact us at info@cellsuppression.com.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect and use your information, and why. Please read it before using the website. We take care of your personal data and undertake to keep it confidential and secure.
Personal information we collect:
When you visit cellsuppression.com, we automatically collect certain information about your device, including your web browser, IP address, time zone, and some of the cookies installed on your device. As you browse the site, we also collect information about the pages you view, the websites or search terms that referred you, and how you interact with the site. We call this “Device Information.”
We also collect the personal information you choose to give us when you fill in a form, for example to download a free resource or join our newsletter. This is your email address, first name and last name, and, if you choose to answer, which group best describes you (for example, cancer patient or medical professional). If you contact us or buy something from us, we may also collect other details you provide, such as your city, organisation, telephone number or payment details.
Why we process your data:
We process only the minimum data needed to run the website and to send you what you ask for.
Device Information is used to keep the site secure, identify possible abuse and understand how the site is used. We do this under our legitimate interest in running a safe and effective website. This statistical information is not combined in a way that identifies any individual visitor.
You can visit the website without telling us who you are. If you wish to receive our newsletter or a free resource, or to contact us through a form, you will need to give us the details that form asks for. You can choose not to, but then you will not be able to use that feature. If you are unsure what is required, you are welcome to email info@cellsuppression.com.
If you buy something from us, we use your details to fulfil that order.
Email subscriptions and marketing consent:
If you would like to join The Cancer Vigilante newsletter, tick the optional box on our sign-up form. We will then email you about new articles, updates on Mark Lintern’s independent research, events, resources, and occasional news of projects and offers. Joining the newsletter is your choice: you can receive a free download without joining it. If you choose to join, you can withdraw your consent and unsubscribe at any time, using the link in every email or by emailing info@cellsuppression.com.
For legal compliance and transparency, we keep a record of your sign-up time, IP address and the form you used.
Information about your health:
Our sign-up form asks which group best describes you. If you choose an option that reveals something about your health, such as being a cancer patient, this is classed as special category data under UK data protection law. We only store it if you give your explicit consent on the form, and we use it only to send you emails that are more relevant to you. Answering this question is optional. You can withdraw your consent at any time by emailing info@cellsuppression.com, and we will delete the information.
Who handles your data:
We use the following services to run the website and send our emails. They process your information on our behalf and only to provide those services:
Hostinger, which hosts this website and provides Hostinger Reach, the email marketing service we use to manage subscriptions and send emails.
Sender.net, a third-party email service we also use for some email functions.
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We do not share it with anyone other than the service providers above, and where we are required to by law (see “Legal disclosure” below). Your data is handled in accordance with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
International transfers:
Some of our service providers may process your information outside the UK and Europe, including in the United States and Canada. Where this happens, we rely on the safeguards those providers have in place for international transfers.
How long we keep your data:
We keep your subscriber details until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. We keep a record of your consent indefinitely as evidence that we had your permission. Information about orders is kept for as long as the law requires.
Your rights:
If you are a UK or European resident, you have the following rights over your personal data:
The right to be informed.
The right of access.
The right to rectification.
The right to erasure.
The right to restrict processing.
The right to data portability.
The right to object.
The right to withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on consent.
Rights in relation to automated decision-making and profiling.
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the details below. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
Cookies:
The website uses cookies, as described under “Personal information we collect” above. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings.
Links to other websites:
Our website may contain links to other websites that we do not own or control. We are not responsible for those websites or their privacy practices, and we encourage you to read the privacy statement of each site you visit.
Information security:
We store the information you give us on servers in a controlled, secure environment, protected from unauthorised access, use or disclosure. We keep reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards in place against unauthorised access, use, modification and disclosure of personal data in our care. However, no transmission of data over the internet or a wireless network can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Legal disclosure:
We will disclose information we collect, use or receive if required or permitted by law, such as to comply with a subpoena or similar legal process, and when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, protect your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request.
Changes to this policy:
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
